Can Claude make videos? Higgsfield MCP setup, cost and limits
Claude has no video model of its own, but with Higgsfield's official MCP server it can create AI videos and images in the chat. Setup for Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code, cost per clip, and the limits.
Updated 2 Nov 2026
Claude cannot make videos on its own: it writes text and code, and it has no built-in video model. Connect it to a video platform through MCP, and it can send your instructions to a video model and show you the clip in the chat. Higgsfield runs an official MCP server for this: from Claude — and, through Higgsfield’s ChatGPT plugin, from ChatGPT — you can create images and videos with models such as Kling, Google Veo, Seedance and Nano Banana. This guide shows how to connect it, what a clip costs, and where the limits are. Facts come from Higgsfield’s help centre, pricing page and terms as of 2 November 2026, linked under Sources at the end. We read the documentation; we did not connect the server to a paid account.
Can Claude make videos?
Not by itself. Claude can write a video script, a storyboard, prompts for a video model or code that renders an animation, but it does not generate video footage. To get footage, it needs a tool. MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is an open protocol that lets an AI app such as Claude call outside tools while it answers you. Higgsfield’s MCP server is such a tool: Claude sends your prompt and settings to Higgsfield, Higgsfield generates the clip with the model you picked and charges credits to your account, and Claude shows you the result.
What is the Higgsfield MCP server?
The Higgsfield MCP server is Higgsfield’s official connector for AI apps,
hosted at https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp. You sign in on a Higgsfield
login page, so you do not need to copy an API key. According to
Higgsfield’s help centre, it covers:
- Images and videos with the models available to your plan
- Editing: upscaling, background removal, reframing to another aspect ratio, Kling 3.0 Motion Control
- Characters: Soul characters and saved elements, so the same person or product appears in several clips
- Audio: voice-overs, voice cloning, voice change and dubbing
- Marketing Studio and Ad Multiplier for product ads
- Account: your credit balance, past generations and uploads
The exact names of the tools are only visible once you are connected; we have not seen them.
Is the Higgsfield MCP free?
No, not for generating. “An active paid subscription is required,” says Higgsfield’s help centre, and “everything generated through MCP deducts credits, regardless of your plan.” Unlimited models and free generations included in some plans work only on higgsfield.ai, not through MCP. The cheapest plan that works is Starter at $19 a month for 270 credits, with “selected models only”; check that the model you want is included. Plus costs $59 a month, or $47 a month billed yearly ($564 in advance), for 1,200 credits and all models. Prices exclude tax, as shown on 2 November 2026.
What does a video cost through MCP?
Between about 34 cents and $3 per clip on the Plus plan, depending on the model, length and resolution. Credits per clip from Higgsfield’s pricing table on 2 November 2026; dollar values are credits × the plan’s price per credit, excluding tax (Starter: $19 for 270 credits, about 7 cents a credit; Plus monthly: $59 for 1,200, about 5 cents).
| Model | Clip | Credits | On Starter | On Plus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0, 720p | 5 seconds | ~7 | $0.49 | $0.34 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p | 5 seconds | ~12 | $0.84 | $0.59 |
| Google Veo 3.1 Fast | 4 seconds | ~16 | $1.13 | $0.79 |
| Seedance 2.0, 720p | 5 seconds | ~22 | $1.55 | $1.08 |
| Google Veo 3.1 | 4 seconds | ~40 | $2.81 | $1.97 |
| Google Veo 3 with audio, 720p | 8 seconds | ~58 | $4.08 | $2.85 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 1 image | 2 | $0.14 | $0.10 |
Starter’s 270 credits cover about 38 Kling clips or 6 Veo 3.1 clips a month, if your plan includes those models. Every new attempt costs again, including clips you throw away, and subscription credits expire at the end of each period, so the real price per usable clip is higher: three shots with two attempts each are six generations, or about 42 credits with Kling. Generations that fail for technical reasons get their credits back, according to the help centre. Prices and credit costs change often; Higgsfield’s own blog listed different plan prices a week earlier. Check the cost on the pricing page before you start.
How to connect Higgsfield to Claude
You add Higgsfield’s server address as a custom connector in Claude and sign in to Higgsfield. The steps follow Higgsfield’s help centre on 2 November 2026; we have not run them with a paid account, and labels may change.
- Get a paid Higgsfield plan. Starter can be enough to test. Buy monthly: under Higgsfield’s terms, only your initial purchase can be refunded, within 7 days and only if no credit was used.
- Add the connector. In Claude, open Connectors (under
Customize or Settings, depending on the app version) and click
Add custom connector. Name it Higgsfield and paste
https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, then click Connect. - Sign in and authorize. Log in to your Higgsfield account and approve the access.
- Switch the connector on in your chat and set its tools to ask for your approval before each use, so no credits go without your OK.
- Start with a cheap test, such as “Check my Higgsfield credit balance, then create one 5-second Kling 3.0 clip in 720p of a coffee cup on a wooden table, slow push-in. Tell me the credit cost before you start.”
On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, your company’s Claude administrator may have to add the custom connector first.
How to create a product video in Claude with Higgsfield
Plan the shots in Claude first, test one cheap clip through Higgsfield, and approve the rest only after you have checked it.

Can Claude make videos? On its own, no. It writes scripts and prompts, but it has no video model.
With Higgsfield's official MCP server, Claude can create the clips for you. Here is how to set it up and keep the cost under control.
Step one: you need a paid Higgsfield plan. Every clip made through MCP costs credits, and unlimited offers do not apply. Start with a monthly plan.
Step two: in Claude, add a custom connector with Higgsfield's server address and sign in. Set the tools to ask before each use.
Step three: plan the shots in Claude first. Describe the product, the format and the look, and ask for the credit cost before anything is generated. Use a product photo you are allowed to upload.
Test one cheap shot in 720p. Then check every clip: the logo, the label and the shape must stay right.
Credits depend on the model. Every retry costs credits again, and unused credits expire. And keep customer photos out: uploads may be used to train Higgsfield's models.
Setup, cost per clip and the full guide are on bto.ai
Step by step:
- Brief in plain words. Product, audience, one message, format (9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube), length.
- Let Claude write the shot list first, with one prompt per shot, before anything is generated. Change it until it fits.
- Ask for the cost. “Which model and resolution would you use, and how many credits will the three shots cost?”
- Test with one cheap shot in 720p before you generate the rest or a higher resolution.
- Use a real product photo as the start image — one you own and are allowed to upload — and check every result for a changed logo, label or shape.
- Cut and caption the clips in your usual video editor; add the voice-over through Higgsfield’s audio tools or separately.
How do you use Higgsfield in ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor?
All three routes are official, according to Higgsfield’s help centre; we have not tested them. All need a paid plan and charge standard credit rates.
- ChatGPT: Higgsfield calls it a plugin. “Open the Plugins Directory in ChatGPT, or go to higgsfield.ai/mcp and select Add Higgsfield plugin”, then sign in and authorize. It does not include audio or the website-building skill. Higgsfield does not say which ChatGPT plans support it.
- Claude Code (and other coding agents in a terminal): install
Higgsfield’s command-line tool with
npm i -g @higgsfield/cli, sign in withhiggsfield auth login, and add its skills withnpx skills add higgsfield-ai/skills. Copy the commands from Higgsfield’s own help page, not from third-party sites. - Cursor: add Higgsfield from Cursor’s marketplace.
What should you watch out for?
- Your uploads may train Higgsfield’s models. The terms allow Higgsfield to use inputs and outputs for training by default, and we found no opt-out switch; only an Enterprise contract excludes training. Keep customer photos, staff faces and unreleased products out of a standard online plan, and read AI tools and the GDPR first.
- Consent for faces and voices. You must have permission from anyone whose face or voice you upload, and the terms ban non-consensual content of real people.
- Credits run fast. One prompt can trigger several clips. Keep tool approvals on and ask for the cost before each batch.
- No unlimited through MCP. Unlimited offers only work on the website.
- Commercial use: the terms say you own the outputs and do not restrict commercial use. That does not make an output unique or free of third-party rights, and protection against third-party IP claims comes only with Enterprise.
- Third-party MCP servers on GitHub that promise “unlimited mode” are not from Higgsfield; the terms say Higgsfield does not “control, endorse, verify, or secure” third-party MCP clients.
Are there alternatives to the Higgsfield MCP?
- Runway lists “Runway MCP” on its Pro plan ($28 a month billed yearly, $35 monthly, on 2 November 2026), for Runway’s own models.
- Without MCP: generate the clips on the vendor’s website — Kling, Google Flow with Veo, Runway or Freepik — and use Claude or ChatGPT only for the script and the prompts. Some plans include free or unlimited generations on the website that do not work through MCP, so compare the same model, length and resolution before you decide.
- Animations instead of footage: Claude can write code for animated explainer videos with text, charts and screenshots. That needs no video model, but it is a developer task.
