How we review

Facts from the vendor's own pages, with the source and the date next to them — and a score that shows its working.

What every review contains

  • Who it suits and who should skip it — decided from the plan limits, not from the marketing copy.
  • Every plan with its price, billed monthly and yearly where the vendor offers both, in the vendor's currency and excluding VAT.
  • The catch: credit limits, length caps, per-seat pricing, cancellation and refund terms.
  • Where your data is processed and whether the vendor offers a data-processing agreement (DPA) — the question that decides whether a business in the EU can put customer data into the tool.
  • Sources and the date of the check at the end of every review.

Where the facts come from

From the vendor's own pricing page, terms of service, refund policy, privacy policy, security page, data-processing agreement and changelog. Review platforms such as Trustpilot or Capterra are used only for patterns in complaints, and they are named as such. When a vendor contradicts itself — for example a refund promise on the pricing page that the terms narrow down — the review quotes both.

How the bto.ai score works

Every review ends in a score from 1 to 5. It is a weighted average of five criteria, each rated in half points and explained in one sentence on the review page:

  • Value for money (25%) — What does the plan a small business actually needs cost?
  • Features for small businesses (25%) — Does the tool cover the job, and which plan unlocks it?
  • Data protection (EU) (20%) — Is there a DPA, and where is the data processed?
  • Try before you pay (15%) — Free plan, trial or refund window?
  • Fair terms (15%) — Refunds, cancellation and credit rules in the terms.

The ratings are based on the documented facts in the review — published prices and plan limits, terms of service, refund policy, privacy policy and data-processing agreement. They are not lab tests, and we do not present them as such. Ratings from other platforms are never relabelled as our own, and a commission never changes a score. When prices or terms change, the score is re-checked with the review and gets the new date.

Updates and corrections

AI tools change prices and plans often. Each review shows when it was last checked; the vendor's page is always binding. When a vendor changes a price or plan, the review is corrected and gets a new date.
