AI voice generator for narration and voice-overs

Murf AI review

AI voice-overs for training videos, explainers and slide decks in 35+ languages from $19 a month billed yearly — but the PowerPoint and Google Slides add-ins need the $66 Business plan, and only Enterprise gets a DPA.

Prices and terms checked against Murf AI's own pages — sources.

Pick Murf AI if…

  • Small teams that narrate training videos, product demos or explainers and do not want to record their own voice
  • Freelancers who need commercial voice-overs in several languages — Creator includes commercial rights from $19 a month billed yearly
  • Teams that narrate PowerPoint decks every week and can justify Business for the add-in that turns speaker notes into audio

Skip it if…

  • Anyone who only narrates one deck now and then — PowerPoint records your own voice for free
  • Mac or PowerPoint-for-the-web users who want the add-in — it is a Windows installer
  • EU businesses that put personal data into scripts without a DPA — Murf's DPA is tied to an Enterprise order form

Murf AI turns a written script into a voice-over. You pick one of more than 200 AI voices, adjust speed, pitch, pauses and emphasis, and download the audio or a finished video. Beyond its web studio, Murf sells an API, AI dubbing and add-ins for PowerPoint, Google Slides and Canva. Murf Inc. is a Delaware company based in San Francisco.

How we checked Murf AI

Checked without an account on 2 November 2026: the Studio, API and Dub pricing pages including the full feature table, terms of service, privacy policy, data protection agreement, security page, sub-processor list, ethical AI statement, the PowerPoint and Google Slides add-in pages with their FAQ, and Murf’s help center articles on the PowerPoint plugin and on cancelling. We have not generated audio with a paid plan. How we would narrate a deck is in our guide how to do a voice-over on PowerPoint.

What it really costs

Official prices before tax, as of 2 November 2026.

Scenario What you need Plan Monthly billing Yearly billing
Try the voices once Listen in the browser, no download Free $0 $0
Freelancer, a few client videos a month Downloads, commercial rights Creator $29 $19 a month ($228 a year)
Small business, one training deck a week Audio from Murf Studio, inserted into PowerPoint by hand Creator $29 $19 a month
Same team, narration straight from speaker notes PowerPoint or Google Slides add-in Business $99 $66 a month ($792 a year)
Company with SSO and a DPA Enterprise contract Enterprise On request On request

The big step is the add-in: Business costs $792 a year against $228 for Creator, $564 more. Creator already gives you the voices and the downloads; with it, you insert one audio file per slide yourself. Business saves that manual step and updates the audio from your speaker notes.

Change log

  • 2 November 2026: First review. Prices, terms, DPA, security page, sub-processors and the PowerPoint and Google Slides add-ins checked.

What to check before customer data goes into a tool is in AI tools and the GDPR.

What works

  • 200+ voices in 35+ languages and accents, with control over speed, pitch, pauses and pronunciation
  • Commercial rights from Creator; the terms leave ownership of your scripts and uploads with you (no reselling of Murf's voices)
  • PowerPoint add-in turns speaker notes into narration on each slide and keeps animations and transitions
  • Integrations for Google Slides, Canva, Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate, plus an API and AI dubbing
  • ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and SOC 2 Type II; Murf's own storage stays in one AWS region in Ohio, backups included

What to watch

  • The PowerPoint and Google Slides add-ins need Business at $792 a year ($99 monthly), against $228 a year for Creator
  • The free plan does not allow downloads, so you cannot test a finished voice-over in your own deck
  • Fees are non-refundable unless you ask within 24 hours and have used less than 10 minutes
  • Murf promises not to train its models on Enterprise customers' data; we found no such promise for the other plans
  • The DPA with EU Standard Contractual Clauses is signed with an Enterprise order form; we found none for self-serve plans, and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework does not replace it
